£20.00 Sold out

Image of Miner's Lifeguard T-shirts

Cotton t-shirts and vests (Fruit of the Loom) screenprinted with a design by Aisha Farr by Jake Vine, sold to raise money for the legal costs for Workers for a Free Palestine arrestees. Some are white and others are hand-dyed by Grace Connolly Linden.

The t-shirts say “Keep your hand upon your wages and your eye upon the scale”, from the miners’ union song ‘The Miner’s Lifeguard’ (https://mainlynorfolk.info/folk/songs/minerslifeguard.html). The words refer to the fact that historically miners were paid by the weight of coal that they’d mined that day. This practice was rife with corruption and wage theft was common.
